The Domains of Competency
These domains of professionally competent activity have to be considered within the general framework that constitutes the professional activity of a European psychotherapist. These domains operate for each of the three main categories of Competencies (Core, Specific & Specialist). All these domains indicate the main areas of activity in which a European psychotherapist is competent.
The Domains were developed by the Working Group and then through a consultation process (conducted in Dec 2009 & Jan 2010) with EAP Members filling in a questionnaire whereby they could comment on the appropriateness and significance of these Domains. These are the result.
